Dive highlights

  • Abu Dabbab

Coral gardens and a canyon swim-through near Marsa Alam, with a small liveaboard wreck resting on the slope. Depths run to around 30–40 m.

  • Brothers Islands

Two remote islets in a marine park reserved for liveaboards. Sheer walls of soft coral and gorgonians draw pelagics and sharks, and Big Brother hides the Aida and Numidia wrecks.

  • Daedalus

A lone offshore reef some 80 km out from Marsa Alam, ringed by coral walls and known for big-animal encounters. The deep Zealot wreck here is strictly for technical divers.

  • Elphinstone

A long offshore reef famous for drifting along deep coral walls, with a real chance of oceanic whitetips and hammerheads.

  • Fury Shoal

A cluster of southern reefs including Satayeh and the cave-like mazes of Claudio and Malahi, full of light, swim-throughs and dolphins.

  • Marsa Shouna (Turtle Bay)

A shallow, sea-grass bay where large turtles graze and dugongs are occasionally seen, with coral gardens and pinnacles nearby.

  • Rocky Island / SS Maiden

Steep walls dropping into the blue, dressed in soft coral and black coral trees, where steady currents keep marine life abundant.

  • Safaga

Panorama Reef and Abu Kefan: plateaus, drop-offs and schooling barracuda, with hammerheads sometimes passing by.

  • Wadi El Gemal

A vast protected marine area south of Marsa Alam with hundreds of coral species and islands that serve as bird breeding grounds.

  • Zabargad

The largest island in Egypt's southern Red Sea, offering both wall and shallow dives over pristine hard and soft coral.
